Drying Out

I took the Gary Fisher out for a ride around BCLP to check out trail conditions and was pleasantly surprised to see that the trail was quite dry. More dirt riding coming up!

It was also a nice little mental exercise, embracing the wind once again. 15-20 mph sustained winds with gusts to 35. the head and crosswinds were challenging, but turning around and going home was absolutely effortless.

On another note, this last weekend I officially began my Leadville Marathon Training with fun 6 mile run at Green Mountain.

New Bike and Back on the Commute

It's nice be commuting again, it's requiring less motivation to get out of bed each day. I'm also liking the Niterider Trail Rat 2.0 I picked up for commuting, just-about-right run-times, bright enough to overpower the oncoming headlights on C-470, bright enough that I don't out-ride it, heavy enough that I don't feel like I'm wearing down my race setup.

I also bought a new bike just before going to Puerto Rico, it'll be the race hardtail for me. It's a 2004 Gary Fisher Team 29er, I bought it used off a member of the Tokyo Joes cycling team, he just got a new Superfly and didn't need this anymore. I'll post more details in a dedicated post later. Here's a picture to wet the appetite.

Bad Blogger!

I swear I have some posts coming about the previous month and the 24 HOP race. I've slept in my Colorado-based bed 3 times in the last 3 weeks so things are crazy. I'm back for at least this week so I'll try to get caught up.

Mississippi was not much fun, Puerto Rico was a great time.

The picture is Cody and his sweet Toyota United team bike, I've really got to get up to Montana and convince him to let me take it for a spin.
